A New Season Means an Autumn Furniture Makeover

When you need an autumn furniture makeover for your home, you can always consider a painted furniture look. That was certainly the brief for this small item of furniture. Is it a bedside table or perhaps a sitting room cabinet? With its size and height, it could easily be at home in either location. Perfect for a table or reading light, it's an ideal furniture item and well worth bringing up to date.

In this instance, it's a sitting room cabinet and the brief was very, very simple. Update it with a new coat of paint (Lamp room gray). That's a Farrow and Ball colour that we mixed into a Dulux diamond eggshell. We used to paint entirely with Farrow and Ball paints until they changed the recipe making it impractical.

We didn't replace the handles for this item but we often do so and it can really change the look and appearance of any piece of furniture.

Lamp room gray might not be your typical autumn colour but it's certainly an effective colour to change the look and feel of any modern sitting room today.
