Most of our painted furniture is pine, but there's also oak and beech that we're asked to paint. Dark, old furniture is often the first to benefit from a new look. Several coats of primer and undercoat are a match for most woods. Where we do come across a particularly dark tropical hardwood we will use a shellac paint to mask the wood stain.
