When you want to upgrade your sitting room, you will typically consider a colour or two for your walls and your woodwork. You might also consider your fabrics and furnishings. New curtains, perhaps? Or maybe some new cushions or a throw for your old sofa? But have you also considered your furniture? Because you can conveniently upgrade your furniture with a paint treatment, fresh varnish, or a mix of the two. With only a hint of design input you can very easily upgrade the look of your furniture to match the new look of your redesigned sitting room.

Is it Time to Upgrade Your Furniture this Autumn?
Furniture Upgrade Brief
Certainly that was the brief with this furniture. The small table was much loved and its drawers contained a variety of playing cards and other “essential” paraphernalia. And it definitely had its place in the family home. But it did look a bit antiquated once the new furnishings in the sitting room had been planned, let alone executed.
Key Steps for Your Furniture Upgrade
And so our brief was to upgrade the look of the furniture and make it fit for the 21st century. And that’s what we did. We used all white, a Farrow and Ball colour, in a Dulux eggshell paint. We applied several layers of varnish to the sanded top surface of the table And it’s now in pride of place in the upgraded sitting room.
