This painted furniture transformation involved three pieces of furniture. There were two bedside chests of a decent size and a 4-drawer chest of drawers. Characteristically all three pieces were an unassuming brown wood, marked with age, but still sturdy. As an extra bonus their metalwork handles were complete, attractive and not rusty!

A Painted Furniture Transformation is as Good as New
Our brief was to sand the items ready for paint. We followed a primer and an undercoat with a topcoat or two of the Farrow and Ball colour Off White. At the time we used a Dulux diamond eggshell, but more consistently we now use the Dulux heritage eggshell. It's a very easy paint to work with and it also sprays well. Whilst we don't spray all the furniture, we do spray smaller items, chairs and bookshelves.
Painted Furniture Transformation: Before and After

The before and after painted furniture transformation was effective, creating some stylish furniture for the revamped bedroom. Certainly the decorators had done their work before we brought everything back. Plus, the carpet fitters had also been busy.

Altogether this was a very pleasing commission that reinforced how you can transform the look of a bedroom with painted furniture.
