Earlier we noted how a two-tone look had reinvigorated a well-made pine dressing table. And we also mentioned that we had applied the two-tone look to a brace of bedside tables. Because the brief for these pine bedside tables was as simple as the dressing table brief. Deliver a pair of two-tone painted bedside tables to suit this modern local property. And that's just what we did.

Achieve More Design Input with the Two-Tone Look
The tables were of a standard pine build. Not particularly different to so many in the country. And you would recognise the style immediately. Three drawers and, solid little feet and a good flat surface on the top. Height-wise, they were also ideal.
We removed and replaced the handles, just like we did with the dressing table. We do this since it really is near impossible to remove layers of varnish from the rounded surfaces, ready for a wood dye treatment. Because we wanted the wood dye treatment to match the top…and the surfaces on the dressing table! Rustins wood dye proved invaluable as ever.
Two-Tone Painted Bedside Tables in a Dulux Brilliant White
We gave the bedside tables a few topcoats of Dulux diamond eggshell before we pieced everything back together again. Job done. In our next article we'll review the two-tone chest of drawers that we also completed.
